We have developed a chemical process in which a mono-dispersed AqT™ polymer can be produced to deliver oligos or siRNA-type drugs. AqT™ polymer increases the hydrodynamic radius of the stand-alone drug, protects it from enzyme degradation, reduces its immunogenicity, improves therapeutic effectiveness, and decreases the frequency of dosing. A controlled release and degradation mechanism is incorporated into the AqT™ polymer, so the released AqT™ polymer does not accumulate in the body or cause long-term effects. A mono-disperse AqT™ polymer is used along with a site-specific or single labeling method to make homogeneous AqT™ biologics possible; thus, the drug manufacturing process is predictable and easy to control.
